I highly recommend reading this conversation regarding the Mastery Transcript idea being promoted by a consortium of independent schools who are tired of grades in their traditional format. I will not take sides, except to say this conversation is a good starting point for a consideration of how best to measure and report student progress? Have we got it right? If not, what would constitute an improvement? The Mastery Transcript folks think they are on to something. Are they?
